What is IED?

Illinois Equipment Distributors is a nonprofit organization dedicated to exchanging ideas that help equipment distributors throughout the state of Illinois to succeed.

How often are meetings?

There are four business meetings each year scheduled in March, April, September and October. Guest speakers are often invited to share the latest ideas that have proven to be successful for equipment dealers.

The two social meetings each year include the annual Golf Outing in June and the annual Installation of Officers combined with a Christmas Reception and entertainment in December. The focus of all get togethers is to exchange ideas for success, to learn from each other for consistent improvement in our businesses.

Who oversees the organization?

Four Officers oversee the daily operations: President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Executive Secretary. Three Directors contribute their expertise to the operations: 1st Year Director, 2nd Year Director and Associate Director.

Candidates for these offices are elected at the annual meeting in October each year to serve one year terms. The Associate Director is elected for a three-year term and is nominated from the ranks of the Associate Members once every three years.

Who can join?

There are two types of members.

Regular Members are voting members who are active equipment distributors representing at least one major equipment manufacturer (OEM).

Associate Members are non-voting member whose products and/or services support the businesses of the Regular Members.
